Nicole Melchi, IMFT, LPCC-S, CGT
Nicole Melchi holds a license as an Independent Marriage & Family Therapist and a Professional Clinical Counselor. As a Certified Gottman Therapist, she has undergone advanced training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. In her almost 20 years of experience, she has worked in a variety of settings including Drug Rehabilitation, Community Mental Health, and private practice. Her passion is working with relational issues, be it the relationship with self or others. She particularly enjoys counseling couples who experience difficult life transitions. Nicole’s goal is to help partners know one another in a way that enriches understanding, peace, and security. Creating dialogue around difficult topics is a skill necessary for any thriving relationship. An important part of her work is providing support for those who experience existential struggles. She aims to increase self-awareness and insight to create positive change. Different life experiences impact an individual’s ability to connect and communicate. She believes the ability to understand one’s worldview helps to promote change... individually, relationally, and spiritually.
Nicole has advanced clinical training in Perinatal and Postpartum Mood Disorders. She is also a qualified Seven Principles Leader and a Bringing Baby Home Educator through the Gottman Institute. As a mother of five children, she is an advocate for the proper care of families transitioning to parenthood. Certified as a Prepare and Enrich Facilitator, she and her husband are active in the marriage ministry as mentors at her home parish. Alongside her husband, Nicole gives presentations through the Diocese of Cleveland. She speaks on Strategies for Strengthening Relationships from a faith perspective. Additionally, she has obtained a certificate in Catholic Theology from the Augustine Institute. Growing in faith and Spiritual Direction is an important aspect to her vocation in marriage and relationship with Christ.
Nicole hopes to help individuals and couples understand their struggles and achieve their goals and life mission. She aims to create a space that is welcoming by providing safety and compassion for everyone she encounters. Clients appreciate Nicole’s honest, direct approach, as well as her ability to foster acceptance and validation. Nicole’s faith, husband, and five children are central to her life. She values continual self-evaluation and discernment. This allows her to work toward becoming a better wife, mother, therapist, and exemplar of compassion.
